WHAT IS A HEALTH COACH, ANYWAY?



And more importantly, why would I need one?


Right. Well that is a good question. To be über vague, a health coach can really be a lot of things.


But seriously, what is a health coach? you think now with added skepticism.


MAYBE it would be better to start out with some of the things a health isnt..

A health coach is NOT…

  • a dietitian (unless they went and got educated and have those lovely credentials of RD by their names…) to be even more confusing, there are some dietitians out there that call themselves coaches ?… which is cool because that means their meal planning skills are down to a science but they also want to coach you through nutritious decision making, cooking/recipes and accountability

A health coach is not…

  • a personal trainer, although there are health coaches who also personal train and vice versa

A health coach is not…

  • a therapist, unless licensed and educated to do so

A health coach is not

  • just for weight loss

  • Just for meal planning

  • Just for exercise routines


A health coach is someone to whom you go when you are struggling with any aspect of health. You may need more movement/fitness in your life. You may need to figure out how to establish more well rounded meals, how to incorporate protein, veggies, healthy fats… etc. You could be struggling with sleep, anxiety, depression, finding your purpose, motivation, accountability…


And a health coach can help guide you on ALL of those things.

I think of it as someone who understands health in all areas (hence the holistic nature) and has done some studying on it, understands behavior change, motivation and accountability. Who also Understands health in both MIND and BODY.


A health coach is there to give YOU the tools to be the BEST, healthiest YOU that you can be. Guide. Serve. Lead. Coach.


And then there’s more but that’s often the secret sauce of the individual coach. Like my super power is that of perception and the ability to non-judgmentally guide you to understand why you are doing what you are doing. To listen and redirect you, inspire you and help change your mindset, thus the behavior change comes easier…


I also understand discipline and commitment and most importantly changing one’s life for the better. That’s what I want to teach you. I also have fitness tools, meal planning tips, yoga teaching and meditation in my tool box…


So whether you want to get fit and lose some inches or eat better or desire serenity in your life and want to explore yoga and meditation or finally, want to explore some deeper issues that are holding you back in your life… I am your guide.


I am not perfect. And helpful hint here- NO ONE is. ? You may only want to lose weight and my slow and steady change-your-life kind of way may not be your bag…


Or we may be. And this could be the step that changes your entire life. Oh just that little thing called life called and said I’m still kicking your a$$! Are you gonna fight back or let me keep winning?

I’m here for people that want that change. Reminder, need does not always equal or surpass want. So when you WANT to make that baby step of the first call or first appmt, let me know and I promise you one thing, I will do everything I can to help you and guide you.


Because this is my passion. This is my life. I know that I can help people change their life, be healthy, eat better, find their passion, become more serene, get flexible in body and mind… which is why I took this big ol’ leap of faith to become a health coach. So guess what? I am here to serve you. And I’m ready!


I just can’t wait to see where we can go…
